Mainers can now apply for heating assistance online

MaineHousing has launched a new online application for the Home Energy Assistance Program. The new online portal allows people to start the application process remotely while sending their application information directly to the local community action agency who will verify and process the application. MaineHousing and its partner community action agencies in Maine have already accepted and processed nearly 5,000 more HEAP requests than they did during the same period last heating season with more than 33,000 applications already underway representing more than $16.5 million in heating assistance.
